Let's look at all the pros and cons of them so you have all the information in front of you.
You won't be a bother to your friends. You might even be able to use them inside at work, though that is subjective to the rules of your work establishment. You aren't using tobacco, so it might be allowed. You also might be able to use these inside of restaurants and airports. Since you aren't exhaling, I'm not sure what the problem might be.
Eliminating it all together can reduce the yellow shade to your teeth. Going to the dentist will take care of most of it, but stopping it all together is the first step. Using e-cigs is a good option if that stuff bothers you. Everyone likes to look good, so this might be a suitable idea.
No Toxic Chemicals - There are 599 additives found in cigarettes. It's truly terrible, especially if you're one who inhales 20+ over and over all day long. I don't think anybody realizes what they are actually inhaling, because they don't care. All they want is their fix. I know I didn't until I looked. It's disgusting.
But you eliminate all those chemicals (besides nicotine) when you use these. Nicotine itself does not cause cancer, but many of the additives do. This reduces your chance of developing cancer.
I've heard the cheap ones only last a day or two, and then you toss them. As they get more expensive, they last longer, but you have to keep recharging them and buy new cartridges. That can be a pain, but you aren't smoking, so in a sense, it's worth it. You just have to know what you want before you take the first step. Do your research.
Tedious Starter Kits - If you've never heard of them and you're intrigued by the idea, then you probably expect them to come to you all ready to go and use. Think again!
When I quit, I didn't quit because I didn't want to get cancer, or that I was sick of my house smelling like an ashtray, or because it was expensive, I quit because I wanted to take control of my life once and for all!
Now I understand the health benefits of not inhaling all those chemicals over and over, but this certainly isn't a method to QUIT smoking. It's merely another form of using, and I do not approve of that. You aren't cutting back, you are still getting your fix throughout the day. So I don't see why people think they can quit by using these as a substitute. They'll just smoke them for the rest of their lives and be a slave to them.
I wanted to be free. Free from the habit, free from the slavery. I wanted to make the decisions in my life, and control my own destiny. Smoking gives you none of those things. I wanted to wake up in the morning feeling fantastic because I was a finally free. I wanted to save money. I wanted to be in charge of myself.
You're still going to go through all the physical withdrawal symptoms of nicotine, especially if you're a heavy user. You're still going to get anxiety attacks, and mood changes, and all the negatives effects that go along with being a tobacco user.
To me, I don't understand why you would switch over, because it is such a hassle. I would just quit cold turkey and move on with your life. It's the fastest way to having complete control over everything. Isn't that what you want?
You will never be in control of your life if you smoke electronic cigarettes. Nicotine will be in charge.
